CIUDADES
Siento polvo entre los dedos,
en la ciudad no hay estrellas,
entonces…
¿de dónde venimos?

LAS VERDADES
La arena me alcanza
con borbotones
dulces de agua
de sal.
Escuchar el transitar,
mover la tierra,
sembrar geranios,
seguir adentro,
salir,
ver la luna rebanada de limón.
Es temprano,
soy un lagarto,
puedo esperar.

MOTIVOS DE AGUA
I.

A Bertolt Brecht
—¿Vas a volver?
Los Dioses de la noche
salen,
aman
y dicen
lo que una sabe.

Despedir tiene diferentes
verbos,
a veces
cambiar.

—¿A qué hora amanece
cuando es de noche?
La oscuridad permea,
tenemos hambre
y no sabemos tomar el pan,
a lo mejor no será nuestro.

Hermana, sólo nosotros
que tenemos hambre
sabremos darte el pan.

La casa es amplia
y las bestias son mansas
dentro, esperaba mi corazón
no diera vuelcos.

Hermana,
sólo nosotros sabemos
del corazón,
nosotros que estamos heridos
y que nuestra fuerza
ha sido el dolor.
Nosotros que esperamos
y tenemos el alma amplia.

Limpio la mesa,
las sábanas,
lavo mi cuerpo.
El destino es un nombre
extraño
cuando debo elegir.
Tomar,
tomar,
tomar.

—¿Dónde están los que piden,
los que buscan?
Sé esperar,
mas ¿cómo habré de buscar
ahora
que me escancio
en la noche?

Hermana,
los que estamos perdidos,
los que tenemos
sed,
sabemos encontrar,
ven con nosotros,
los que no estamos solos,
te enseñaremos a buscar,
a volver.
Tierra
Todo mi cuerpo es un escenario (...)
Vengo del país del oro (...)
Hasta mi muerte cuando muero brilla.
Enrique Carlos
La tierra, el signo de ver.
Tengo hambre
en los oídos,
el cielo
blanquecino
en las pestañas.
No es verano,
aún. Estás aturdido.
-¿Dónde está el sol?-.

La tierra, mi padre.
Escuché su voluntad.
Quise ser rebelde.
Mentira y cobardir.
Acciones y callar.
Repetir la sangre,
la noche.

Otra vez de noche.
Esta danza
es el amanecer.
Sembrar en ésa,
la tierra,
el símbolo
de nuestros muertos
de oro y niebla.
Pensamos en ellos,
repitieron nombres.
-¿estarán mis letras ligadas a ti?-.

El aroma de casa,
convocar los humedales.
Ser madera,
fresco bosque,
dejar de arder.

Fulgores
X.
Los gemelos de agua,
a veces uno toma la vida
del otro,
a veces
los dos existen,
a veces son uno.

En el corazón
de tu madre
la llaga
dice su nombre.

Ya no somos
hermanos,
ya no nos amamos.

Casa
III.
Respirar,
el agua nos llega hasta los tobillos,
su rostro va hacia la arena.

−¿De dónde vienes?
−De ningún lado, ya ni siquiera... voy.
−¿Y mamá?
−Mamá...
−Ya tenemos mojadas las rodillas.
−Yo mejor duermo. Mamá no sabe nuestro nombre, ni cuándo hemos nacido.
−¿Qué hora es y qué día?
−Seguro es mi hora y mi día.
−Ahora tendré que olvidar tu nombre y tu vida, mas no tu partida.
Pensamos caminar por la playa, pero también se había ido.

CITIES
I feel dust between my fingers,
the city sky has no stars,
so…
where do we come from?
THE TRUTHS

The sand reaches me
with gushes
of salt water
taffy.
Listen to the movement.
Move the earth
to plant geraniums.
Go inside
and come back out
again.
See the moon, a slice of lemon.
It's early.
I am a lizard.
I can wait.
WATER MOTIF
I.
It is said that fish do not know that they are fish,
that fish do not possess a fishy self-awarness.
They swim because they do not know how to walk.
But once they have come
out of the sea,
facing death,
they discover
who they are.
Gods of the Night
To Bertolt Brecht
II.
“Are you coming back?”
The Gods of the Night
they leave
they love
and they say
what one knows,
but cannot say.
Farewell uses different
verbs;
sometimes
to change.
“When will the dawn come
while the night persists?”
The darkness permeates,
and we are hungry.
We do not know how to take bread.
Maybe it will not be ours.
Sister, only we
who are hungry
will know how to give you bread.
This house is spacious,
and the beasts are meek.
Inside, I hoped that my heart
would not stop,
flutter.
Sister,
only we know
the truth of the heart,
we who are injured:
the pain has been our strength.
We wait
and our souls are voluminous.
I clean the table,
the sheets,
I wash my body.
Destiny is a strange
appellation
for choice.
To take,
take,
take.
“Where are those who ask,
Those who seek?”
I know.
But how can I
continue seeking
now
that I am scared
of the dark?
Sister,
we who are lost,
who are thirsty,
we know how to find them.
Come with us,
we are not alone.
We will teach you to seek,
to return.
Earth
My whole body is a stage (...)
I come from the land of gold (...)
Until my death,
when I die it shines.
Enrique Carlos
The Earth, the omen of sight.
I'm hungry in my ears,
the sky filters whiteness
through my eyelashes.
It's not summer yet.
You're stunned.
Where is the sun?
The earth, my father.
I heard his will.
But I wanted
to be rebellious.
Lie and cowardice.
Actions and silence.
Again comes the blood,
through the night.
Dawn is the dancer.
We sow the emblems
of our dead
into the earth,
our dead ones
of gold and mist.
We think of them,
repeat their names.
"Are my words joined to you?"
The scent of home
summons the wetlands.
Be wood,
cool forest,
stop burning.
Fulgores
X.
The water twins—
at times, one may take the life
of the other.
Sometimes two exist separately.
Sometimes they are one
in the same.
In the heart
of your mother,
the wound
speaks its own
name.
We are no longer brothers.
We no longer love each other.
House
III.
You breathe,
and the water reaches your ankles.
Her face falls to the sand.
“Where did you come from?”
“I come from nowhere. I neither come nor go.”
“And Mama?”
“Mama...”
“We've got our knees wet already.”
“I better sleep. Mama does not know our names, or when we were born.”
“What time is it and what day?"
“It's my time and my day.”
“Now I will have to forget your name and your life, but not how you left us.”
We thought we were walking down the beach, but it was gone, too.
